The Amazing(?) Spiderman

Seeing the newest cinema incarnation of Spider-Man tonight at midnight. Rather nervous, since he is my favorite superhero. I'm scared Marc Webb is going to take the franchise in a darker direction, more akin to what Nolan did with Batman. Spider-Man has always been...well, not happy. Angsty, really. He's always agonizing over something: his grilfriend, his responsibilities, his public image. But he was always cracking jokes the whole time. I'm scared Webb will abandon that in an effort to be "edgy". But then again, I dressed up as Spider-Man two or three times as a kid, so maybe I'm a little biased. I'll share my thoughts on it tomorrow.
